Sunny Summer Burger with Fries Recipe

During the summer we always have loads to do, and it seems like never enough time. We want a meal that’s filling and can hold us over for more than a few hours. Enter, the sunny summer burger with fries.

First, I preheat the oven to 425, I know most see oven and think whoa, this is about grilling, calm down, there is a method to the madness.  Then I get my five pounds of 97/3 ground beef, 3 eggs, and I use diced mushrooms but you can use what you prefer. I’ve experimented with olives, onions, peppers, and tomatoes, and I prefer mushrooms. Empty the beef, mushrooms and season to taste, then add the eggs and mix well. Then separate the beef mixture into roughly baseball sized balls and flatten to desired thickness. I then put my choice of fries in the oven for 30 minutes/ for me, Alexia’s sweet potato fries are the choice.

Prep the grill and throw them on for your desired cook. I like a medium rare that’s pretty thick – so 15 minutes at around 350 or 375 degrees works for me. Keep in mind time will vary, depending on thickness and cook. Before I remove the patties I gently season again with a dash of garlic pepper, then cook for a couple more minutes before removing. Then, I set them aside and place my selection of cheese on top. A nice slice of gouda cheese or simple pepper jack compliments well.

Once back inside, I take another egg, and fry it to my desired cook, over medium, my preference here. By this time, the fries should be nice and crispy and ready to remove from the oven. Place the egg on the patty, grab your favorite condiments, and enjoy this mouth watering sandwich.
