St. Patrick’s Day Recipes

Saint Patrick’s Day is a very important day in the year for Irish people. On 17th March is a celebration of the Christian missionary and bishop in Ireland. Which is why there are many recipes that Irish people make for this day, but there are some that have been a tradition for centuries.

Recipes for St. Patrick’s Day (St. Paddy’s / St. Patty’s)

Corned Beef and Cabbage as we know it didn’t start in Ireland. It wasn’t a Tradition at least. Meat was scarce. But when Irish immigrants came to America and found meat more plentiful it started anew again. In fact, they found that Jewish Americans had already started the trend here. But it has become tradition for Saint Patrick’s Day now for decades. It is easy to prepare it but takes about 5 hours to cook. You just need some celery, carrots, onion, small potatoes and of course corned beef brisket. Place the vegetables on the bottom of the cooker and Corned Beef on top of it. After that just put enough water to cover the meat and leave it to cook on high until the beef becomes soft and then put the cabbage over it. Leave it to cook for about four and a half hours.

If you want Pastrami, just Smoke the cured corned beef for a few hours over your favorite wood. Just be sure to soak off all the excess salt the night before. And dry it well before putting it on the Smoker.

Another great meal to make is Irish Potato Bites. They are easy to prepare and taste great. Boil small potatoes, cut them in half and scoop out the middle.

Add cheddar cheese, diced beef and a teaspoon of butter, then all you need to do is put them in the 400°F oven for 10 minutes and your masterpiece is ready. You can always add spices, salt and sour cream for an even better taste.

If you’re looking to make something sweet for this special day, then why not make some Irish Cupcakes with Baileys. It isn’t hard to make it and has a great sweet taste.
Make sure you have some flour, cocoa powder, an egg, oil, baking soda, vinegar, a little bit of sugar and salt and green food colouring. For the frosting, you will need cream cheese, butter and Baileys.

These were a few simple recipes that will definitely make Saint Patrick’s Day even better than it already is. If you are having friends or family with you then this is the food you want to make. It won’t take you a lot of time to prepare and everyone will like it.
