Grand Mother Style Grilled Fish

Its time to celebrate outdoor BBQ parties with this grand mother style grilled fish.
Do you love to make marinated fish on the hot grill? I am sure you definitely love to. I always enjoy making fish on the grill rather than frying it in a pan containing lots of oil, because its a healthier way to make fish, plus I love to hear the sound of fish while grilling.
I just marinated fish fillets into easily available spices for 3-4 hours then placed on the grill and left it to be done for 3-4 minutes per side.
You can serve it with garlic mayo sauce or vinegar sauce. Below I have provided the recipe for garlic mayo sauce that will definitely blow your mind with its unique taste.
Grandma’s Classic Grilled Fish with Garlic Mayo Sauce Recipe
Ingredients:
2-3 fish fillets (any variety)
4 tablespoons gram flour
3 tablespoons vinegar
1 tablespoon lime juice
¼ teaspoon cinnamon powder
¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 tablespoon turmeric powder
½ teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ginger paste
1 teaspoon garlic paste
1 tablespoons olive oil
For Garlic and Mayo Sauce
2-3 garlic cloves, minced
½ cup mayonnaise
¼ teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon lime juice
Salt to taste
Directions:
- Remove the skin of fish and make 2-3 deep cuts on each fillet by using a sharp knife. This will help to reach all spices deep inside the fish.
- In a large container add fish fillets and sprinkle ¾ tablespoon of turmeric powder over fish and rub gently with clean hands. Cover container with a plastic wrap and place aside for 30 minutes. This process will help to remove the smell of fish.
- Now wash the fish and spread it on a paper towel or pat dry with a clean cloth.
- In a large container transfer fish with ginger garlic paste, gram flour, salt, remaining turmeric powder, cinnamon powder, and cayenne pepper. Toss well to combine.
- Now add in lime juice, vinegar, and olive oil. Stir until combined.
- Make sure that fish fillets are coated well with the marinade.
- Cover container with a plastic wrap and place aside for 2-3 hours. But if you want more flavors marinade it for 4-5 hours.
- Now heat grill on hot coals or on your campfire and brush it with some oil, so that fish does not stick to grill.
- Place fish fillets on hot grill and leave to cook for 3-4 minutes per side. Flip fish carefully otherwise it will break.
- When done place grilled fish on paper towel or on clean leaves with fresh vegetables.
- For making garlic mayo sauce: In a bowl add mayonnaise, lime juice, and garlic, mix until combine. Season with salt and pepper.
- Serve fish with garlic mayo sauce and share with your loved ones.
Enjoy.
