Listed below, you will find my go to Recipe for Brining Pork. It’s a great base to build on. You can add many other seasoning ingredients to this and it works great to tenderize and add flavor to all your pork dishes.

Brining is a vital part of Barbecue. Brining was originally intended as a preservative. Proper brining helps enhance its tenderness and increases the level of penetration. 

One of my favorites in a proper brine is Sodium Phosphate, as it helps maintain the moisture in the meat. I prefer to useButchersBarbecue, but you could use your own favorite.

Easy Basic Flavorful Pork Brine

Ingredients

  • 1 2/3 cup Apple Juice
  • 3 Tbs Apple Cider Vinegar
  • 4 Level Tsp Sodium Phosphate
  • 4 Heaping Tsp Brown Sugar
  • 1 1/2 Tbs Worcestershire Sauce

Instructions

  • Heat Apple Juice in microwave until hot.
  • Add 1 Tbs ACV to temper heat.
  • Add in Brown Sugar and Sodium Phosphate. Stir.
  • Add remaining ACV and Worcestershire. Chill in refrigerator.
  • Once Brine is chilled add to a ziplock bag with Pork selection and Marinate overnight.
  • Once Marinated, pat dry with paper towel and season with your favorite rub
  • (This Recipe also works great as an injection.)
